Walrus archiving

Your bot recently archived the walrus discussion page. It left behind four ancient (probably > 3 years old) and irrelevant non-timestamped comments and tucked away everything related, for example, to the Good Article review and other relevant discussion. Personally, I find the little "1" that one needs to click to get to the archive difficult to find and buried under all the banners - especially for a novice. In this situation, it seems any utility of the talk page has been severely compromised by the archiving. Could you please bring back some (or most (or all)) of the archived talk - and perhaps archive the ones that have remained? I am not sure whom else to approach. Best, and thanks in advance. User talk archive bots

Hi Misza13, I was wondering if the archive config used for MiszaBot III could include an archive immediately parameter like the one for ClueBot III. Regards, —Ғяіᴆaз'§ĐøøмChampagne? • 6:20pm • 07:20, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Misza has not updated the archiving code in some time. –xenotalk 16:52, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh ok. Thanks Xeno. —Ғяіᴆaз'§ĐøøмChampagne? • 2:29pm • 03:29, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reginald Gray artist

Hello from London. Could you please look at my Wikipedia page at the title in the above headline. I have recently had a banner on the top of my page threatening that the page may come under consideration to be deleted if the notability question is not settled. I am an 80 year old artist and all the text on my page is true. I have given all the info on books that refer to me and all the museums that hang my works in there collections. I am not an expert on setting up a page so I ask you if you could do something to help me in this matter. Sincerely . Reginald Gray. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Reginald gray (talkcontribs) 10:09, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikinews Importer Bot question

Hi there - the bot works just fine on n:Wikinews:Wikinews Importer Bot/University of Oxford for Portal:University of Oxford/Wikinews, but when I've tried to repeat the trick with n:Wikinews:Wikinews Importer Bot/Law of England and n:Wikinews:Wikinews Importer Bot/Law of Wales for Portal:Law of England and Wales/Wikinews England and Portal:Law of England and Wales/Wikinews Wales respectively, the bot doesn't want to add them to its list of pages for updating. Can you spot anything that I've done wrong in the setup? If not, can you please give the bot a bar of chocolate from me to get it in a good mood?! Thanks. Now working, so thanks if this was through something you did, and sorry for bothering you otherwise. BencherliteTalk 20:00, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Minor edits?

Hi. Your bot marks as minor-bot (mb) its edits. OK for the bot flag, but the edits (archiving and make to disappear from the page lots of lines) don't look such minor. Perhaps the flag "b" would be sufficient. --GianniG46 (talk) 10:27, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Exception from automatic archival possible for edit from Julian Assange?

Hi Misza13, Julian Assage, a well known person these days, commented on the talk page of his own article in April and this edit got archived. On 18 September he entered almost the same comment again with "please do not move" added to the title [[1]], I interpret it that he does not want this edit to be moved to the archival page. There is confirmation, that this edit is actually from him, see my comment added on the talk page. Your user MiszaBot is mentioned in the top section of the talk page as responsible for archiving. Could you clarify, if the request "please do not move" or as I interpret it "please do not archive" can be positively handled like this, or if his edit will nevertheless be moved to the archive? You could reply here to me or may be it would be better to explain directly on the talk page after his entered subject how this entry will be handled considering archival. Thanks --Orangwiki (talk) 19:30, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) This should probably be discussed at Talk:Julian Assange rather than here. I think Misza is busy with other things and the fact that their bot account archives the page doesn't mean that they have any particular opinion on this. It sounds perfectly ok to me for that to be done, I imagine there is a template that would stop it being archived, but I'm not sure which one would be suitable. I can ask at the helpdesk if there is a consensus to keep the comment on the page and I'm sure someone will be able to help. Smartse (talk) 09:24, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

MiszaBot III question

In this edit, MiszaBot III Archived 2 threads older than five days, but did not archive 4 other threads older than five days? Why the 2 and not the other 5? Kingturtle = (talk) 17:24, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

minthreadsleft defaults to 5. Set to 0 and bot will change to 'all-it-can-eat'. –xenotalk 17:26, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
My script says algo = old(5d). What do I add or change? Kingturtle = (talk) 18:41, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thusly. –xenotalk 18:54, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
thank you mucho. Kingturtle = (talk) 19:07, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

stupid miszabot question

approximately how often does it run? I set up an archive system at talk:hercales yesterday, and when i've done that previously it usually does it by the next day....not important, just wondering. --Rocksanddirt (talk) 20:17, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Every day, but it looks like it had already started it's run for the day prior to you adding the code. It should pass by again within 12 hours. –xenotalk 20:24, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks xeno! --Rocksanddirt (talk) 18:38, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No prob. –xenotalk 18:54, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
